Three men have been killed in a fiery head-on collision west of Townsville.
Police say two four-wheel drives travelling in opposite directions collided on the Flinders Highway at Black Jack, near Charters Towers at 6.30pm on Friday.
The three occupants of the cars were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Townsville Bulletin, both cars went up in flames, before the fire spread to nearby grassland.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
The latest fatalities brings Queensland’s road toll to 160, compared to 142 at the same time last year.
